5 Absolutely Ingenious Pancake Recipes That’ll Have You Boycotting the Original

By: Hanya

I was told to make this “delicious and crazy”, bas ashan ana Hanya, it’ll also be “fun and vegan”! Summer is almost over and we’ve mostly got a couple of weeks left to experiment and enjoy a hopefully drama-free existence. These ingenious pancake recipes may just be the cherry on top.

Cinnamon-Roll Pancakes

For the better, you’ll need:

1 cup of all purpose flour
½ tsp of salt
2 tsp baking powder
a dash of cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tbsp of sugar (or more depending on your liking)
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 large egg

For the filling:

4 tbsp butter
½ cup of sugar (preferably brown)
2 tsp cinnamon

For the glaze:

3 tbsp butter
4 tbsp of cream cheese (Kiri if all else fails)
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (or sugar)

Mix everything together and start with a nonstick pan on a medium heat, lightly oil your pan with
some butter/oil and add as little (or as much) batter as you’d like.

When the pancake starts to cook and bubble, add some of your filling to it in a spiral shape and
then flip it.

Do that to your stack of whatever-number-you-choose and then top it all off with your beautiful
cream cheese glaze and voila, cinnamon perfection!

via Food Network

For the batter:

1 cup of all purpose flour
½ tsp of salt
2 tsp baking powder
a dash of cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tbsp of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 large egg
Chocolate Chips

For the filling:

Nutella
Crumbled Biscuits
Mini-marshmallows

Again, prepare your batter and add it to the greased pan and when it starts to cook and bubble,
sprinkle some chocolate chips then flip it.

Whilst the pancake is still hot, spread some Nutella and top it off with crumbled biscuits and
mini-marshmallows until you’ve built a mouth-watering stack.

Enjoy!

Vegan, Gluten-Free Banana Pancakes

via Love and Lemons

You’ll need:

½ cup of rolled oats
1 medium-large banana
3 ½ tbsp of your choice of plant-milk
A pinch of salt
1 tbsp of sugar (or more to your liking)

Start by finely blending the oats to make your own oat flour then add the rest of the ingredient to
it until you create a nice batter.

Cook and prepare as usual and top it off with coconut cream, powdered sugar, maple syrup, or
whatever else you like to have with your pancakes.

This is an easy and quick 5-ingredient recipe and it’s absolutely delicious!

Tiramisu Pancakes

via Tara’s Multicultural Table

For the batter, you’ll need:

1 cup of all purpose flour
½ tsp of salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp espresso powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tbsp of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 large egg

For the filling, you’ll need:

Cream cheese (Kiri)
Powdered sugar
Vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
1 tsp coffee

For the syrup, you’ll need:

¼ cup sugar (preferably brown)
3 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp espresso powder
1 tsp vanilla extract.

Mix everything together and cook as previously mentioned.

When you start stacking your pancakes, add cream cheese filling in between (the same way we
did the s’mores) then top it all off with your mocha syrup.

And yes, instant coffee will do, sigh.

Italian-American goodness honestly, what more can I say?

Peanut Butter and Jelly Pancakes

via Bread, Booze, and Bacon

For the batter, you’ll need:

1 cup of all purpose flour
½ tsp of salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 tbsp of sugar
1 cup of milk
1 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 large egg
Peanut butter
Jam (your choice of fruit)

Prepare and cook the batter as usual. When assembling your stack, spread peanut butter on
your first pancake and then spread jam on the second one going on top.

All your pancakes will have sustenance (peanut butter on one side, jam on the other) except for
your first and last pancakes. Top it off with more jam and actual peanuts so it can look as pretty
as it tastes.

These are genuinely amazing and you won’t be able to resist them. Also, here’s a friendly
reminder that everything you can eat I can eat vegan, so don’t be afraid to switch up everything
to it’s vegan alternative.

It’s 2020 for god’s sake and no matter how shitty it is, I thank the lord for plant-milks, coconut
cream, vegan butter, and everything else that is healthy/cruelty-free!

With love,
Hanya xx
