By: Marie Kamal

Every person is unique but sometimes it’s hard to express ourselves and express our uniqueness. We are always surrounded by high trends, luxury brands and fashion models, etc, that we forget to embrace our own sense of style. Some days we stand in front of our closet full of clothes and say “I have nothing to wear”. This is because we follow the latest fashion and buy el lebs eli 3al moda and forget that we have a personal style.

What we wear expresses who we are and how we want the world to see us. Clothes reflect our personality and is a tool that helps us share our individuality. Whether we’re boho, edgy, girly girl or all of the above we can show the world who we really are, which in fact can lead to boost our self-confidence.

However, some people are shy and scared to stand out and wear crazy looks to express themselves. But this is the thing about fashion, you don’t have to follow all the trends and buy all the items everyone is wearing to be cool or at least feel safe. It’s about embracing your uniqueness and wearing what feels good. It’s about standing out and being noticed.

If one day you feel lazy and want to wear an oversized hoodie and baggy sweats, do it. The other day, you want to wear a crazy dress with heels, do it. It’s about what makes you happy.

If you didn’t find your style yet, not to worry, it’s never too late.

First, you should find your style icon. Let’s say you like Jennifer Anniston’s style in Friends, then you should only focus on this specific type of style and forget the rest.

On a side note, your style icon doesn’t have to be a celebrity. Your style icon can be one of your family members or a friend.

Next, you should find the elements they have in common to know exactly what are your style preferences.

Now, clean out your closet. Throw away the pieces that don’t seem to match your new style or don’t express who you are. For example, if you finally figure out your style and discovered you’re a minimalist. Then, I don’t think the glittery sparkly maxi dress will fit your new style.

Find out why you like the pieces you left in your closet. And then buy similar pieces. If you are not sure about your style then you can experiment on cheap clothes and see if you like them or not.

Last but not least, take your lifestyle into consideration. Remember, your style expresses who you are. Make sure the pieces in your closet really present your personality and lifestyle because they will introduce you before you talk.

No matter what kind of style you have, it’s your own. You should feel special and confident in it. Trust your gut and go with what makes you feel the best.
