It’s the start of November so we all know what that means… drum roll please…winter is coming!! I don’t know about you guys but I love winter so much. It’s my favorite season. I love the cold, the rain, the snow (even though we don’t have snow here), Christmas – I just love everything about it. Before winter, I usually start preparing, so I thought; why not share what I do to prepare for winter with you guys? It could be fun and helpful right?
Okay, let’s begin.
Buy candles, pillows, blankets and fairy lights. If you don’t want to buy expensive stuff you can always DIY your own winter decorations and make them unique to you!
You can find plenty of DIY’s on the Internet.
2. Find the perfect slippers and robe
Being cozy and warm is one of my main goals during winter. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect robe and slippers. I choose clothes made from wool or cotton because they are the warmest. Wearing fuzzy socks and slippers indoors, will help you keep your feet warm and cozy, just as you want them to be. Plus, no one can deny how amazing it is to feel like a cuddly burrito.
3. Create the perfect winter playlist
Create a winter playlist to lift your mood and make you feel festive during these long winter months. Some Bing Crosby, Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande will definitely get the job done.
4. Go shopping for clothes
When winter comes around it’s always an excuse for me to go shopping. To be honest, winter clothes are so cute and you just can’t stop buying them. Some stores I like to shop at are Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear, Hollister, and H&M.
5. Create a christmas movies list to watch
What’s better than cuddling in your warm blankets, drinking hot chocolate and watching christmas movies? Some of my favorite movies are “The Christmas Chronicles”, “The Princess Switch”, “The Grinch”, “Frozen” and the OG winter and christmas movie “Home Alone”.
6. Gift shopping
Winter means christmas, and christmas means family gatherings and gift giving. Not going to lie, gift shopping is hard and quite a challenge. It’s hard to find a gift for a friend that has everything or a distant relative you don’t know. So I recommend you start thinking about your gift shopping because it could be stressful if you leave it until the last minute.
7. Search for some interesting food and drinks recipes
We all know in winter, it’s a reason for us to eat because “it’s cold”. All we want to do is curl up with a blanket while stuffing ourselves with food and lots of hot drinks. And that’s okay. There are a lot of delicious recipes you can try; you can find some tasty recipes on Pinterest, or you can be traditional and you can bake cookies, cupcakes, etc. …or you can go buy them from any bakery and call it a day, like any lazy teenager does (me).
8. Make a winter bucket list!
Write down everything you want to do and accomplish during winter and start doing them. If you don’t have ideas you can always search on Pinterest and get some dope ideas. You can throw a cozy movie night and invite your friends over, go ice skating, or host a cookie baking party. There are a lot of options to choose from to make this winter amazing and festive – as it should be!
Hope you found this helpful!
