How to Make the Most of the Last Summer Days (This is an El7a2oony Intervention)

By: Marie Kamal

Summer is coming to an end. Yes, you read that right. Summer is almost over and school is just around the corner. Not gonna lie, I didn’t do that much this summer. I went to the beach two times and that’s it. I didn’t have a “hot girl summer”, I didn’t travel, I did NOTHING. And I know a lot of you guys have the same issue.

Summer went by so fast and the next thing we know it’s the middle of August and we didn’t do anything. But you know what, it’s okay, we still have time. I don’t know about you, but I start school September 4th so I have two weeks to live all my summer dreams and make summer 2019 the best summer ever. Okay, maybe not the best summer ever, but I’ll try to make the most of it. Or at least that’s what I say to myself to feel better. I’ve got some ideas though.

Here are 7 things to do to make the most of the last few weeks of summer

1.    Don’t think about school.

Few weeks before school, I start thinking about school shopping and what the first day of school will look like – and I start stressing about teachers and tests. But this sh*t really stops you from enjoying your last few weeks of freedom (yes freedom, school is a prison if you didn’t know that). So relax and don’t think about school at all. Just think about all the amazing things you’ll do in the next few weeks.

2.         Explore your hometown.

You don’t have to travel to visit historical monuments or to feel like a tourist. You can go explore your hometown. If you live in Cairo, you can go visit the Pyramids. If you live in Alexandria, you can go to the citadel of Qaitbay or maybe go to Montaza and have a walk on the beach. Watch the sunset with your friends and take some vsco inspired beach pictures.

3.         Road trips. Roadtripping can be super fun or super boring.

There is no in between. I think the only fun thing about road trips is that you have the chance to be with your family or friends and chat with them for hours. There is not much things to do during road trips. I guess. You can just read or listen to music.  Ohhh, you can also do a carpool karaoke and film it. That’s cool right? Your own version but with friends and without James Corden.

4.         Sleepover. Invite your friends to a sleepover.

What is more fun than getting to spend the night with your best friends, right? You guys can have makeovers, bake, host an at-home fashion show, watch romantic movies and cry, gossip and pull an all nighter. You can also get creative with your sleepover. For example, if you have a backyard, you can do a camping themed sleepover. Or to make it even more dope, you can buy a trampoline and turn it into a pillow fort. You can decorate it with fairy lights, put on some music and sleep under the stars. There you go, you have the ultimate summer sleepover.

5.         Do a picnic.

You don’t have to cook meals and buy tons of food. Just grab some snacks from your house, sit outside and enjoy nature.

6.         Do a bucket list.

Think of all the things you were going to do in the beginning of summer and write them down. And try to finish them. I know you can’t finish all of the list but finish all the small things that can make this summer amazing. I am going to challenge you. Write down everything you want to do (besides traveling) and do them in ONE DAY! Yup, one day. It’s easy. Let’s say you want to live a typical summer day. You can go for a bike ride, do some popsicles, build a pillow fort, take some cute pictures, go bowling, try yoga, paint. For me this is the best summer day ever.

 And last but not least…

7.         Challenge your inner child.

Go to arcades and playgrounds. Have a water gun fight or a pillow fight with your siblings and friends. Go for a bike ride. Do craft projects and DIYs. If you think about it you’ll find a lot of fun activities to do.

So these are 7 awesome things to do before the end of this summer.

 Your welcome 😉
