If you have never heard of these shows then you’ve probably been living under a rock for some time now. However, if you have heard of these shows, but never actually watched them; then you should probably know that I’m very deeply concerned for your well being. Here are just some shows that you are missing out on!
A classic. I find it hard to believe that you haven’t watched this show already because of how long it’s been around and all of the talk about it, but if for some mysterious reason you haven’t watched then you probably should. It circles the lives of a group of friends set in New York from 1994 till 2004. They all live in the same apartment complex, the show goes on about all of life’s-and love’s-obstacles that they face both as friends and individuals in the big apple, New York City.
2. Boy Meets World
You’ve probably heard of the show Girl Meets World on Disney Channel, but what you probably didn’t hear about is that Girl meets world is actually just the spin off of the original show Boy Meets World. In my opinion, one of the most underrated shows of all time. The unforgettable love story of Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence. It mainly revolves around Cory Matthew and how he tries to juggle his relationships, friendships, school and family with the help of his best friend Shawn, his brother Eric and his incredible teacher Mr. Feeny. Truly an incredible show that you are definitely missing out on if you haven’t watched it.
3. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Will Smith portrays the role of himself in this sitcom, and the the shows theme song basically explains the entire story. Will Smith gets sent from where he lived with his mom, rough Philly neighborhood, to live with his wealthy Uncle Phil and Aunt Vivian with their children-Wills cousins-Carlton and Hilary after getting in trouble quite often in philadelphia.
4. Full House
Yet again, a classic. Full house is a show about how all men, Danny-the father, Joey-the best friend and uncle Jessy-brother in law to danny-move into one big house and start to raise Danny’s three daughters, Stephanie, Michelle and Dj after their-the girls-mother dies. The show is set in San Francisco in the late 80s, early 90s. But, that’s not all because the story continues almost twenty years later with the Full house spin off, Fuller house.
5. Golden Girls
An iconic show of iconic women if you ask me. Rose, Dorothy, Blanche and Sophia-Dorothy’s mom-all four mature women live under the same roof in Miami enjoying their prime time supposedly. It’s all about being friends and experiencing the joys and angst of their golden years together. Golden girls also has not one, not two, but three other spin off shows. The golden palace, empty nest and nurses.
6. That 70s Show
This sitcom is set in the 70s-duh-When Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd were all the rage and sodas and cars were actually cheap. That 70s show follows a group of 6 friends in high school, Eric Foreman, Donna Pinciotti, Jackie Burkhart, Steven Hyde, Michael Kelso and Fez living in the fictional suburb of Point Place, Wisconsin. It follows their crazy adventures, highs-literally-and lows, sex life and love, basically the full teenage experience.
7. How I Met Your Mother
Again, such an underrated show. Ted Mosby,an architect, is a hopeless romantic searching for “the one” in New York City, but before falling in love with “the one” he has to get heart broken a couple hundred-maybe even thousand times. With the help of his friends Barney Stinson, Robin Scherbatsky, Marshall Erikson and Lilly Aldrin. The show goes back and forth of Ted telling the children his story of how he met their mother, but only ends in quite a shocking way if I’m being honest. I won’t spoil it to you because I’m not the spawn of satan unlike most spoilers on the internet, but I definitely think you should watch it because this plot twist is unlike any other, it’s quite ironic actually.
8. Black Mirror
This is by far the strangest show that i’ve probably ever watched, and i love it, you will to. It has something for everybody, whether its romance, drama, comedy or even horror. Every episode has a completely different plot-which is perfect for people with a short attentions span-with different characters. Black mirror explores the technology paranoia of the modern world in a way unlike any other and you certainly do not want to miss it.
9. 2 Broke Girls
After the rich materialistic Caroline Channing gets striked with bad luck and is forced to waiter at a dinner due to her father going bankrupt and imprisoned, her co-worker and soon to be roommate Max Black is a broke girl living in New York, Max realizes that Caroline is a woman of substance and may be her one way ticket to success. They room together and try to find start-up cash to open up a bakery because Max can make one hell of a cupcake. Is this going to be their break through Or will they break? It shows how the two girls live with a budget and how Caroline goes from living her best life to her worst nightmare.
It’s a heartfelt comedy about Sam, a teenager, living on the autism spectrum who is finally ready to meet “the one” for him. And for him to actually be ready for that he has to learn how to be more independent, when his mother finds out she goes on her own life changing path. When you watch this i can guarantee you, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but most importantly you’ll fall in love with them.
11. The Rain
This show is actually a bit different than the others. For starters it’s not in New york – I know, shocker right? – it’s an apocalyptic show that revolves around a deadly rain-carried virus that has wiped out nearly everybody in Scandinavia. It follows the two danish siblings, Simon and Rasmus
Andersen, 6 years after the rain fell, they’ve been staying in a bunker after their mother dies from the rain and their father leaving and still hasn’t returned 6 years later. They’ve lost all hope of anybody still being alive, not knowing what is out there as they’ve been stuck in the bunker for 6 years. After finding out their are more bunkers with kids just like them they go out in the search for more supplies and their father. Truly something unlike you’ve ever seen and you surely don’t want to miss it.
