2018, you’ve been-somewhat-good to me,but unfortunately all-somewhat-good things must come to an end. It’s officially time to say goodbye to 2018 and give a very warm welcome to 2019 with a new fun and fresh list of resolutions for the new year.
1. Remove all sorts of toxicity from my life.
Friendships, relationships, bad habits they all have consequences. Some of them are worth these consequences, however, some are not. For those who are not,i want to eliminate all toxicity completely from my life. I need to know my worth and know that they are simply not worth my time, and neither are they worth yours too.
2. Think healthier
I have a very bad habit of overthinking pretty much every single thing in my life and i would like to stop doing that. I want to look in the mirror and see nothing but good. I want to start seeing the glass as half full rather than half empty. Really that’s something that i shouldve done a long time ago, but i guess now i finally might have the balls to actually do it.
3. Overcome my fears
Honestly, i’m kind of ashamed of this resolution. In 2019 i want to overcome my fears. I have many, obviously, and i’d like to overcome some-if not all-of them. I want to ride a rollercoaster and actually be able to sleep in complete darkness. Sometimes it’s the little things. To you this might seem very silly, but to me it’s everything i’ve ever wanted and more, to be brave.
4. Get fit
Such a cliche i’m fully aware. Judge me if you want, but this will unfortunately never not be a part of my new year’s resolution list. I want to try new sports, ride bikes more often, go to the gym more. I want to eat healthier. They always say “a healthy mind is in a healthy body” and I hope that this year will be the year that i could finally put this to the test and see if it is, in fact, true or false.
5. Be more of a doer and less of a wisher
I want to have more accomplishments, become more successful and a better student and just overall a better, more decent human being. The only way that i can accomplish that is by actually doing work and putting in the effort and not by hoping and wishing so and that is exactly what I am going to do this year and hopefully for the rest of my life.
6. Be more of a giver
I want to give more than i receive. I want to be a giver, to make people happy, and not just by materialistic items. By that i mean to listen more than i talk, to say thank you more than complain. I want to be more considerate and giving.
7. Find new passions
I want to pick up a new language, and learn how to drive or practice a new sport. I want to go on more trips and adventures, meet new people, have love affairs. I want to learn and experience new things. I want to have the full teenage experience, good and bad, because, i’d rather regret the things that I willingly chose to do rather than the things that I didn’t do.
8. Read and write more
I want to thrive in my writing, to become a better writer. I also want to manage my time more properly and efficiently so i would have enough time to read more books again.
9. Climb a step everyday
By this, i mean that i want to learn something new everyday, no matter how small. It could be learning a new word’s meaning or a new fact. I want to know something new everyday and to become involved in the conversations that are going on around me.
10. Get my priorities straight
This year, I solemnly swear to prioritize myself, my mental and physical health and well-being and my education on top of anything or anyone. I will take care of myself. I will worry about my problems before i worry about others. I don’t care if people think that by doing that I am becoming selfish, because i know for a fact that i am not, i just love myself too much to allow myself to get treated as a second choice.
11. Reduce my carbon footprint
Last, but sure as hell not least. I want to try as much as humanly possible to reduce my carbon footprint on earth, and by that i mean reducing my meat intake, driving less, unplugging my devices, planting gardens and reducing my plastic and water intake. I want to help have an impact on this planet. I want to nourish it and help it grow as it has helped me.
