Save Your Beastly Summer Hair With These 4 Hair-Masks

By: Maida

I hate to say this, but summer with all of its glory has come to a near end. However, its effects still stand, and to those of us who find summer somewhat of a difficult time thanks to the humidity that soon leads to endless wars with an untamable beast known to humankind as… hair, I say do not worry I have a solution. Allow me to introduce to you 4 ways to beat the heat, and the beast.

  • Almond Oil Hair Mask

Applying almond oil literally bedazzles your hair making it more voluminous and vibrant.

Steps:

  • Place ¼ – ½ a cup of almond oil (depending on your hair’s length and thickness) in the microwave
  • Heat it for about 30 seconds- 1 min
  • Wash your hair with water (only)
  • Apply the now heated almond oil (make sure to thoroughly massage it through the roots)
  • Cover your hair with a towel for about 30 mins
  • Then shampoo and condition your hair

  • Egg Hair Mask

Yes I am highly aware of how disgusting this seems, but this has proven to be quite effective making my hair both softer and thicker.

Steps:

  • Place 1 egg’s yolk into a bowl
  • Then mix it with any hair oil you prefer
  • Add ¼ a cup of water
  • Wash your hair (water only)
  • Apply it
  • Cover your hair with a towel for about 30 mins
  • Then shampoo and condition your hair

  • Banana Hair Mask

Now this is quite a tricky one, however, the results are extraordinary, for it moisturizes your hair.

Steps:

  • Mash a banana and place it in a bowl
  • Add ½ – 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Wash your hair (water only)
  • Apply it
  • Cover your hair with a towel for about 30 mins
  • Then shampoo and condition your hair (while doing so it is advisable to use a brush in order to avoid having pieces of banana stuck in your hair)
