I’m pretty sure all of you grew up watching “Casper The Friendly Ghost” as a kid. But today, he isn’t a ghost anymore, and the “friendly” factor remains. Here at Casper, fill your stomach and indulge like there’s no tomorrow. Going through a dilemma of what to pick off the menu will make you go crazy and order everything, literally.
A substantial menu for adults and kids, the quantities are rewardable, and the quality of food is distinguished. Heading for breakfast, jumping to starters then getting lost between sandwiches, ice teas, and main courses and ending it all with an indulgent dessert is the only reason we wait for the weekend. Casper and Gambini’s has that colorful atmosphere that radiates hospitable vibes and is just eye relaxing. As of the service it is competent; the staff is really thoughtful and attentive too.
Starting off with breakfast, I would go for the Egg Benedict as it contains poached eggs, smoked turkey and spinach served on ciabatta bread. For appetizers I like to go with their famous Tomato Soup that comes with a side of garlic croutons or go for their famous Veggie Spring Rolls made of fresh carrots, mushroom, onions, lettuce, rice noodles all combined and rolled together.. served with chili sauce for the dip. The most anticipated part is coming and it’s the Main Course where you can choose to order pasta, risotto, burgers, grills, sandwiches or sushi. The Penne Arrabbiata is basically Pomodoro sauce (tomato sauce), red chili peppers, basil, grated parmesan cheese and you have the option of adding chicken.
My personal favorite is the Cashew Chicken: wok tossed Hoisin chicken, grilled veggies, cashew, sesame seeds, white Basmati rice and topped with fried eggs. The famous Casper and Gambini’s Club Sandwich is served with either grilled chicken or roast beef along with smoked bacon, turkey, mozzarella, lettuce, juicy tomatoes and eggs, of course with a side of perfectly salted and crispy french fries. I bet no one in this world could resist seeing a plate of yummies and not diving in and devouring it all! As of their signature dessert which would be Pain Perdu, French Brioche dumped into créme anglaise that is topped with caramel sauce along with vanilla ice cream.
Wanting all the freshness and colorfulness in the world order the Fresh Fruit Salad with seasonal fruits and orange juice.. the perfect match. Going to the Iced Tea section you get to choose from Southern Mint Ice Tea, Bombay Chai Ice Tea, Old Fashioned Ice Tea (lemon flavored) and Peach Ice Tea. If your not a fan of Ice Tea they also have a wide variety of fresh smoothies and soft drinks.
You can find Casper and Gambini’s at Cairo Festival City Mall, City Stars, Mall of Egypt, Gezira Palace, Waterway, Courtyard Maadi, Point 90, Mall of Arabia and Nile Towers. I definitely recommend that you give it a visit if you still haven’t made one! Casper and Gambini’s All In Good Taste.. the slogan says it all!
