It’s all in the name folks, and it couldn’t get any better than this, yes, you guessed it – Crave – a place where you actually get to indulge yourself in the plates, and fulfill your cravings. One of my favorite restaurants in Cairo for sure, in fact it’s one that I visit frequently.
They have a lit sandwich section in the menu – I bet you anything that you can think off the top of your head can be found there: Club Sandwich, Smoked Salmon, Grilled Halloum and many more to choose from. Feeling thirsty? Go ahead and order something from their smoothie section; it’ll be placed on your table super fresh and filled with crushed ice, almost any drink you choose will be amazing.
Their menu can take you up to cloud 9 straight off. From having an endless array of appetizers to choose from, deciding on one is quite difficult. The Shrimp Konafa though, is what I like most; it’s much as the name suggests and they serve Sweet and Sour Sauce and White Crispers alongside it.
I always have a major problem though when it comes to choosing the Main Course I usually don’t know what to order. I practically go through the menu from five to seven times in order to make a decision, either way it doesn’t matter though; anything you order would be just on point. First off there’s The Fillet Oyster Sauce: a piece of beef cooked according to your desire (Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well or Well done) that’s covered with Oyster Sauce and served with either mashed potatoes, french fries, rice or sautéed vegetables.
Second is The Chicken Lemon Dill which is known as one of Crave’s signature dishes, you get a plate that has chicken breasts topped with lemon sauce and your choice of side much like the fillet oyster sauce. If you want something simple, delicious, and guaranteed – go for the Red Sauce Pasta that comes with a slice of toasted bread on top. The Pizza at Crave is also pretty big, soaked in cheese and absolutely mouthwatering.
You can skip all that and for the Penne Fried Chicken – the absolute classic, it’s a full plate of red sauce pasta with fried chicken laid on top. The one thing I love most about Crave is how they set up the place and how the colors make your eyes relax, the decor is perfect and it only adds to the already pleasant ambiance the place offers. I would advise you not to go on weekends as it becomes very busy there and the service may not be as perfect as it usually is. You can find Crave in Cairo Festival City Mall, Waterway, Tivoli Dome, Zamalek, Maadi, Arkan Mall and Alexandria.
